Democracy for the Digital Era

As the world's largest Democracy, India is a diverse and populous country of 1.252 billion eager voices waiting to be heard. With three levels of government, accountability and responsiveness become essential for a Democracy of India's size and scale to function for the many rather than for the few. Yet our Parliament can only seat only 790. So then how then can we make our voices heard?

As we transition to an increasingly digital technology driven age, the Internet is revolutionizing every sphere of life from fashion to medicine, so why not politics?

At DemocracyOS, we're putting the power to be heard and listened to in your hands. DemocracyOS is an open-source platform that is designed to serve as a bridge between citizens and their elected representatives.

Having already become one of the most used platforms for collaborative decision-making across the globe, in India the platform in India aims to provide a forum for debate as well as a medium to discuss and vote on bills currently before your legislators.

Join the movement and allow us to ink your fingers with every passing debate.

Where it all Began

Democracies across the globe are adopting this technology to enhance their accountability. It has been used in Tunisia to debate its national constitution, by the Federal Government of Mexico to develop its open government policy, by the youngest Parliamentarian in Kenya to consult its constituency. DemocracyOS started in Argentina in 2012 with the aim to create a user-friendly platform for citizens to get informed, debate and cast their votes on every single bill passed by the Congress and has now become one of the most used open source platforms for decision-making. Today, many countries including France, Mexico and Peru have their own chapters.

Now, our team is working tirelessly to bridge the gap between the voter and the legislators. It is time to give the citizens of India a new voice in this digital age.
